Deborah Chen Keesey
Deborah Keesey, who is of counsel to the firm, brings to Burkley & Brandlin broad experience in business and finance law, with a view toward estate planning. Ms. Keesey was raised in Torrance and has returned there to raise her three children.
Ms. Keesey was admitted to the California Bar in 1993, and the Hawaii Bar in 1994. After law school, Ms. Keesey spent nearly 6 years practicing civil litigation in Honolulu, where she engaged in motions practice and arbitrations. Her practice included the defense of businesses and individuals in personal injury, premises liability and sexual harassment matters. Upon her return to Southern California, she practiced in the Global Project Finance Group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP in Los Angeles, assisting businesses in their corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings and international debt financings. Thereafter, Ms. Keesey joined up with her longtime friend and mentor, Mr. Burkley, and later with Mr. Brandlin, where she is now Of Counsel to the firm.
Ms. Keesey focuses her practice on business law and transactions, trust & estate planning, conservatorships and probate-related matters.
